Uniting for Awareness and Responsibility...
Sleep Inc. was proud to be the Official Mattress of the Dallas Stars Hockey Team during the 2012 - 2013 season.
By teaming up with the Dallas Stars, we were proud to bring awareness to the importance of recycling and environmental stewardship.
"The Dallas Stars are extremely excited to partner with a progressive, environmentally friendly company in Sleep, Inc. Our fans will see a number of an initiatives geared toward bringing awareness to the importance of recycling" states Dallas Stars Executive Vice President of Corporate Development, Brad Alberts. "Along with Sleep Inc., the Dallas Stars strive to be a great corporate citizen in the Metroplex. We are pleased to partner with Sleep Inc. and their leader, Doug Guffey who serves as a positive role model his industry and community," continues Alberts.
While Sleep Inc. proudly focuses on designing and handcrafting new beds built from quality new materials and components, we are also committed to helping solve the problem of what to do with old mattresses when they are no longer needed. Our old mattress recycling initiative focuses on the tearing down of end-of-life products, grinding much of the units down to their raw materials in order to be repurposed into other uses outside the bedding industry.
During home games, the Sleep Inc. "Green Team" clad in green shirts lined the aisles of the American Airlines Center during Stars game intermissions and collecteded trash to recycle while fans watched a "Green Tip" (You can watch on our YouTube Channel).
These efforts added to American Airlines Center's already sterling record of recycling. To date, American Airlines Center has recycled 514 tons of cardboard, office paper, plastic bottles and aluminum. The arena also collects cooking oil for Dallas County Schools to be processed into Bio fuel for School busses.
